What if you create a new formula field that checks the length of RateGrpID and if equal to one, add a leading zero to it. For example... if length({RPTPLANGNDRATEGRPTEST.RATEGRPID} ) = 1 then '0' + {RPTPLANGNDRATEGRPTEST.RATEGRPID} else {RPTPLANGNDRATEGRPTEST.RATEGRPID} If you have more than 100 HCEs, you would need two leading zeros for lengths of 1 and an additional if/then to add a leading zero to lengths 2 characters. Then in the formula "@Rate Group / HCE Name" replace {RPTPLANGNDRATEGRPTEST.RATEGRPID} with {@name of the formula} above. This should now sort like... 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 etc.

Merry Christmas all! A Politically Correct Christmas Poem Twas the night before Christmas and Santa's a wreck... How to live in a world that's politically correct? His workers no longer would answer to "Elves", "Vertically Challenged" they were calling themselves. And labor conditions at the North Pole, were alleged by the union, to stifle the soul. Four reindeer had vanished without much propriety, released to the wilds, by the Humane Society. And equal employment had made it quite clear, that Santa had better not use just reindeer. So Dancer and Donner, Comet and Cupid, were replaced with 4 pigs, and you know that looked stupid! The runners had been removed from his beautiful sleigh, because the ruts were deemed dangerous by the EPA, And millions of people were calling the Cops, when they heard sled noises upon their roof tops. Second-hand smoke from his pipe, had his workers quite frightened, and his fur trimmed red suit was called "unenlightened". To show you the strangeness of today's ebbs and flows, Rudolf was suing over unauthorized use of his nose. He went to Geraldo, in front of the Nation, demanding millions in over-due workers compensation. So...half of the reindeer were gone, and his wife who suddenly said she'd had enough of this life, joined a self help group, packed and left in a whiz, demanding from now on that her title was Ms. And as for gifts...why, he'd never had the notion that making a choice could cause such commotion. Nothing of leather, nothing of fur... Which meant nothing for him or nothing for her. Nothing to aim, Nothing to shoot, Nothing that clamored or made lots of noise. Nothing for just girls and nothing for just boys. Nothing that claimed to be gender specific, Nothing that's warlike or non-pacifistic. No candy or sweets...they were bad for the tooth. Nothing that seemed to embellish upon the truth. And fairy tales...while not yet forbidden, were like Ken and Barbie, better off hidden, for they raised the hackles of those psychological, who claimed the only good gift was one ecological. No baseball, no football...someone might get hurt, besides - playing sports exposed kids to dirt. Dolls were said to be sexist and should be passe. and Nintendo would rot your entire brain away. So Santa just stood there, disheveled and perplexed, he just couldn't figure out what to do next? He tried to be merry he tried to be gay, but you must have to admit he was having a very bad day. His sack was quite empty, it was flat on the ground, nothing fully acceptable was anywhere to be found. Something special was needed, a gift that he might, give to us all, without angering the left or the right. A gift that would satisfy - with no indecision, each group of people in every religion. Every race, every hue, everyone, everywhere... So here is that gift, it's price beyond worth... "MAY YOU AND YOUR LOVED ONES, ENJOY PEACE ON EARTH"

Ha! I was so busy Friday afternoon that I didn't even see this post. I'm still in the benefits world, but I don't deal with the issues discussed on the boards anymore, so I like to help out where I can.

Here is the Christmas puzzle updated with all 80, plus the revised song list. christmas_puzzle.zip

Thanks for the attempt, but I don't think it worked. Looks like the board converted it a text file. The size is real small and all it displays are the numbers and the total score line at the bottom. Can you zip the Excel file and attach? Thanks.
-
Does anyone still have this saved and if so, can they attach it to this message again? The original file Tom posted is no longer available. Thanks!

note on christmas puzzle answers
Fredman replied to Tom Poje's topic in Humor, Inspiration, Miscellaneous
Any card carrying ASPPA member should appreciate an open book test!! BTW, thanks for the answers! I'm hosting a party this weekend and this will be perfect for it. -
I was able to download and open the report (using something other than Freezip). Now if I only used Relius I could populate it with some data.
-
Sorry, I'm hijacking the thread to test something and it appears to have worked. I "zipped" a Crystal Report file and have attached it to this message. Its just a blank report with one label, so don't bother downloading unless you want to test it out. This would be one workaround to you not being able to attach report files to your messages. There are a bajillion zip/compression utilities available. Some free, some not so free. Report1.zip

Computer Crashes When Scrolling in Message Boards
Fredman replied to a topic in Using the Message Boards (a.k.a. Forums)
That's odd that its only happening on the BenefitsLink.com page. Have you tried using a different browser? If you aren't using Firefox, I'd recommend trying it out. You can get it here. -
Computer Crashes When Scrolling in Message Boards
Fredman replied to a topic in Using the Message Boards (a.k.a. Forums)
What browser are you using? Does it happen in other applications (Word, Excel, email, etc.) or only while viewing web pages? How old is your computer? About the only thing I found in the Microsoft Knowledge Base is: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=175148 Also, check for the latest updates to Windows, anti-virus, spy/adware, etc. I remember a few friends having this problem 5-6 years ago when video cards lacked power. Good Luck! -
Thanks for the suggestion MWeddell. That seems to have helped.

I'm having mixed results as well. Somtimes a board will be marked with unread messages, but when I look inside, all messages have been viewed. Other times it works fine.
-
Hmmmm....I had to do the same.
-
I'd bet that Dave isn't done fiddling with the new boards. I noticed that ( c ) (without the spaces) changes to © again. BTW, where is everyone at...haven't seen many new posts since the boards came back up.

Tom also claimed to have never fooled around. I think that picture...oh nevermind... As far as the other questions... I will be taking Darth Vader and Belle. I've already raided the candy WE were going to hand out tonight. I wore a suit (dress up?) to work today. Football doesn't start until Thanksgiving.

Tax Relief Granted for Hurricane Wilma Victims IR-2005-128, Oct. 27, 2005 WASHINGTON — The Internal Revenue Service today announced relief for taxpayers affected by Hurricane Wilma. The President issued a major disaster declaration covering impacted areas of Florida, effective Oct. 23, 2005. Taxpayers affected by the hurricane are eligible for relief. Deadlines for affected taxpayers to file returns, pay taxes and perform other time-sensitive acts have been postponed to Feb. 28, 2006, the same date granted to taxpayers affected by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Twenty Florida counties have been included in the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) disaster area: Brevard, Broward, Charlotte, Collier, DeSoto, Glades, Hardee, Hendry, Highlands, Indian River, Lee, Martin, Miami-Dade, Monroe, Okeechobee, Osceola, Palm Beach, Polk, St. Lucie and Sarasota. Affected taxpayers will need to identify themselves to the IRS as hurricane victims by writing “Hurricane Wilma” in red ink at the top of their tax forms or any other documents filed with the IRS. Taxpayers who need to alert the IRS or have other Hurricane Wilma-related questions can also call the special IRS disaster hotline at 1-866-562-5227. For affected taxpayers, the IRS has postponed deadlines for any tax return or tax payment with an original or extended due date falling on or after Oct. 23, 2005. This postponement of deadlines includes the Oct. 31 deadline for filing quarterly federal employment and excise tax returns; the Dec. 15 due date for corporate estimated tax payments; and the Jan. 15 due date for individual estimated tax payments. In addition, the IRS will waive the failure to deposit penalty for employment and excise deposits due before Nov. 4, 2005, as long as the deposits are made by that date. If any affected taxpayer receives a penalty notice from the IRS the taxpayer should call the number on the notice to have the IRS abate any interest and any late filing, late payment or failure to deposit penalties that would otherwise apply during the period from Oct. 23, 2005, to Feb. 28, 2006. Covered Disaster Area The Florida counties listed above constitute a covered disaster area for purposes of Treas. Reg. § 301.7508A-1(d)(2) and are entitled to the relief detailed below. Affected Taxpayers Taxpayers considered to be affected taxpayers eligible for the postponement of time to file returns, pay taxes, and perform other time-sensitive acts are those taxpayers listed in Treas. Reg. § 301.7508A-1(d)(1), and include individuals who live, and businesses whose principal place of business is located, in the covered disaster area. Taxpayers not in the covered disaster area, but whose books, records, or tax professionals’ offices are in the covered disaster area, are also entitled to relief. In addition, all relief workers affiliated with a recognized government or philanthropic organization assisting in the relief activities in the covered disaster area are eligible for relief. Grant of Relief Under sections 6081, 6161, and 7508A, the IRS gives affected taxpayers until Feb. 28, 2006, to file most tax returns (including individual income tax returns, corporation and S-corporation income tax returns, partnership tax returns, estate and trust income tax returns, estate and gift tax returns, exempt organization returns, employment tax returns, and certain excise tax returns), or to make tax payments, including estimated tax payments, that have either an original or extended due date falling on or after Oct. 23, 2005 and on or before Feb. 28, 2006. The IRS will abate interest and any late filing or late payment penalties that would apply during this period to returns or payments subject to these extensions. The IRS also gives affected taxpayers until Feb. 28, 2006, to perform other time-sensitive actions described in Treas. Reg. § 301.7508A-1©(1) and Rev. Proc. 2005-27, 2005-20 I.R.B. 1050, that are due to be performed on or after Oct. 23, 2005, and on or before Feb. 28, 2006. As with Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Rita, the IRS gives taxpayers engaging in like-kind exchanges of property the relief described in section 17 of Rev. Proc. 2005-27. In addition, this relief includes the filing of Form 5500 series returns, in the manner described in section 8 of Rev. Proc. 2005-27. The postponement of time to file and pay does not apply to information returns in the W-2, 1098, 1099 or 5498 series, or to Forms 1042-S or 8027. Penalties for failure to timely file information returns can be waived under existing procedures for reasonable cause. Likewise, the postponement does not apply to employment and excise tax deposits. The IRS, however, will abate penalties for failure to make timely employment and excise deposits, due before Nov. 4, 2005, provided the taxpayer makes these deposits by that date. Taxpayers that are also considered to be affected by Hurricane Katrina remain eligible for relief from the failure to deposit penalty for deposits due on or before Feb. 28, 2006. See IRS News Release 2005-112, Sept. 28, 2005. The IRS assures individuals, businesses and tax practitioners that it will continue monitoring the aftermath of Hurricane Wilma and resolve other potential tax administration issues as they arise.

You can do all of that with Microsoft Office applications. All of our year end census/quesionaires are done in Excel. We don't even send them a letter anymore, everything they need is in the Excel file.
