Mr Bagwell Posted April 7, 2020 Posted April 7, 2020 What do you think about the following statement? “Individuals who continue to work full-time on a reduced salary are not eligible.” So if I have a self-employed individual that has the ability to work full-time, but can't drum up the work for obvious reasons, can't take a distribution for adverse financial reasons. I didn't make this up. Thoughts?
C. B. Zeller Posted April 7, 2020 Posted April 7, 2020 A qualified individual includes an individual "who experiences adverse financial consequences as a result of ... closing or reducing hours of a business owned or operated by the individual due to such virus or disease." If the owner can't drum up the work, then it seems to me that the business would be experiencing reduced hours, thereby making the owner a qualified individual. Mr Bagwell Posted April 7, 2020 Author Posted April 7, 2020 I'm with you CB. I have powers above me with the conclusion that a person that happens to work full-time at a reduced pay wouldn't qualify. I don't get it.

Mr Bagwell Posted April 7, 2020 Author Posted April 7, 2020 Thanks, Peter. I thought I saw something earlier.... but the board has blown up in the last month....LOL. And searches sometime elude me from finding what I want.

You don't get it because it will be shown that they are wrong; I would not worry about that confusing language. Also, remember, no one is going to check if the individuals who self certified were actually correct. Lawrence C.
